Client One Stop Systems is on a roll. A designer, manufacturer and marketer of rugged, high-performance edge computing and storage hardware, software and systems, OSS recently secured a $5-million contract with the U.S. Navy to provide data storage units for long-range surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft, an addition to an existing $36-million contract with the Navy. Coupled with an additional $3.9 million in awards from a defense contractor, OSS is positioning itself with long-term revenue streams across a diverse base of clients and services.

These successes and others led Eli Walsh of the San Diego Business Journal to profile the company and its CEO Mike Knowles in a front-page story.

“We’ve seen these kinds of programs where we’ll get a small development contract that will turn into a multi-year run of production and then a decade-long (run) of support and tech refresh and that provides that basis,” Knowles told the magazine. “I think that’s what we’ve been able to prove out in the last two years,” referring to the company’s focus on diverse services and clients since he joined the company in 2023.

Procopio Managing Partner Dennis Doucette, co-leader of the firm’s Capital Markets and Securities practice, has provided OSS corporate legal assistance for almost a decade, and led their initial public offering in 2018 when they were listed on Nasdaq. Other key attorneys assisting OSS are Senior Counsel Jennifer Trowbridge and Senior Associate Helen Goldstein. The company is headquartered in Escondido, California.

It’s worth noting that OSS’ rugged technology benefits more industries than just the military. One highlight noted by the magazine is that OSS partnered with Andretti Global’s IndyCar Series team in 2024 to provide the motorsport industry’s first transportable AI computing system.
