March 2, 2026 – One of Procopio’s five legal teams has new leadership, as Partner Pedro E. Corona de la Fuente of our Washington, D.C., office takes over the firm’s Corporate and Tax team. Procopio is organized into five distinct internal teams, comprising all our attorneys and legal staff. The Corporate and Tax team includes attorneys engaged in supporting businesses in all manner of corporate transactions from founding to public listing to exit with related tax implications, as well as tax attorneys serving corporate clients, high-net-worth individuals and family offices with domestic and international tax requirements.
Based in Procopio’s Washington, D.C., office, Pedro leads Procopio’s external-facing International Tax practice group and will retain that position.
“Pedro’s significant experience as a leading tax attorney and his demonstrated leadership of our International Tax practice make him a perfect fit to lead our Corporate and Tax team,” said Procopio Managing Partner Dennis Doucette. “With his strategic vision and commitment to client service, firm leadership members agree he is the ideal choice to guide this group of top tax and corporate attorneys.”
Pedro is a trusted advisor to global families and multinational companies on a range of investments and operations across borders. “I am really honored for the trust that my partners have in me for this new role,” Pedro said. “After almost 20 years of being at Procopio, it is a good opportunity for me to contribute to the Firm and show the new generations what our culture is about.”
With extensive experience across the U.S., Mexico, and Latin America, Pedro designs compliant and tax-efficient frameworks for wealth transfer, business succession, and international investment, ensuring alignment with both domestic and foreign legal systems. His work frequently involves advising on treaty interpretation, pre-immigration planning, expatriation, cross-jurisdictional entity governance, reporting obligations, and the tax implications of global mobility.
