Procopio’s Construction Practice Again Earns Key Recognitions, including Chambers and Partners

Procopio’s Construction Law practice has for the eighth straight year been recognized as a top practice in California by Chambers and Partners®, an independent research company delivering detailed rankings and insight into the world’s leading lawyers. Partners Craig Ramseyer and Mary A. Salamone have also been singled out for Chambers individual recognition as top attorneys in their field, a distinction both have earned for several years running. Chambers recognition results from a rigorous research process involving analysis of litigation and related matters and interviews with clients and competitors.

In addition, for the third straight year the Construction practice has been recognized by Construction Executive magazine in its annual Top 50 Construction Law Firms™ list. To determine the ranking, CE surveyed hundreds of U.S. law firms with a construction practice, assessing revenues, number of attorneys, percentage of overall firm revenue related to its construction practice, states in which it is licensed to practice, the year the practice was established, and the number of clients served.

Chambers and Partners said it recognizes Procopio’s Construction practice “for its impressively broad construction practice, advising on areas such as contract preparation, bid protests and litigation.” It said the firm “draws on additional capabilities in environmental regulatory matters and OSHA investigations. Clients include general contractors, subcontractors and sureties.”

Chambers said of Craig Ramseyer that he “is a popular choice for clients seeking advice on various construction matters. He has experience in a wide range of construction disputes, including delay claims and breach of contract disputes.” Chambers quoted a survey recipient saying “He is a well-known, capable trial lawyer, who is easy to deal with.”

Of Mary Salamone, Chambers said she “has notable expertise advising her clients on risk management, competitive bidding and delay issues. She also has experience acting for her clients in complex and high-value disputes, and counts contractors and designers, as well as municipalities and government agencies, among her varied clientele.” Two survey recipients were quoted. The first said, “She is a tough litigator and very knowledgeable.” The other said, “She is focused and always well prepared.”

Attorneys in the Construction Law practice at Procopio represent all segments of the construction industry including owners, developers, public entities, general contractors, subcontractors, sureties and financial institutions. They provide guidance on the legal issues that arise at all stages of public and private construction projects. Services include bid protests, consulting during construction, construction contract formation and performance, contractual claims, environmental and land use issues, mechanic’s lien and stop notice claims, OSHA investigations and citations, state and federal False Claims Act claims, and surety bond claims.
