Tax Law Textbook Author Pedro Corona de la Fuente to Speak on World Book Day

Procopio International Tax Partner Pedro Corona de la Fuente will participate in a World Book Day panel Thursday, April 22, 2022, sharing insights from his book recently published by Thomson Reuters, Introducción a los Impuestos de los Estados Unidos de América. The first book on the topic to be published in Spanish is aimed at tax specialists who seek to understand the fundamental concepts of U.S. tax law, both in its practical and academic aspects. It is also useful for anyone considering starting studies in U.S. tax matters, as it explains the basic issues analyzed in U.S. tax practice.

Pedro will speak on a panel titled “Repercusiones fiscales en el ámbito internacional” hosted by Thomson Reuters as part of an all-day series of discussions with authors on key economic matters.

Pedro advises clients in international estate planning, international tax and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He focuses on U.S. investment structures, cross-border transactions, tax treaty planning, withholding obligations and reporting compliance on international transactions. Pedro brings his clients experience in assisting clients and closely held companies with cross-border transactions involving the U.S., Mexico and other Latin American countries. He is a frequent speaker on international tax topics and recent tax developments affecting cross-border investments from and into Latin America.
