March 5, 2026 (San Diego, CA) – Startups from the online security and life sciences industries are participating in the LaunchPad incubator program in its class of 2026. Founders of cybersecurity innovator Eclipse 13 Labs and cell therapy pioneer Prismatic Bio are incubating in Procopio’s Del Mar Heights office, located in the heart of San Diego’s high-technology community. They are the latest of many startups from a wide array of industries—including software and Internet-based technology, high-tech hardware, life sciences and med tech, health care, clean tech and renewable energy, and telecom–that have participated in the program since 2012.
LaunchPad incubator participants work side by side with Procopio attorneys who understand their industries and the path to success for emerging growth companies. Participants receive a selection of complimentary corporate and intellectual property legal services along with office space and back-office business support.
Meet our 2026 participants:
Eclipse 13 Labs: This cybersecurity innovator is building next-generation cryptographic and advanced computing technologies from the ground up. Using physics-based simulation and GPU-native architecture, the company is developing security solutions designed to stay ahead of emerging threats, including quantum computing. Eclipse 13 Labs has provisional patents filed and is actively engaged with federal defense partners as it moves toward deployment.
“Procopio’s IP expertise and strategic guidance are exactly what we need as we move from proof of concept to real-world deployment,” said Eclipse 13 Labs Founder and CEO Alexander Burwell. “We’re excited to be part of LaunchPad at such a pivotal time for the company.”
Prismatic Bio: This life sciences innovator is solving major bottlenecks in cell therapy by introducing a scalable platform addressing the oncology and autoimmune market. It was founded by CEO Mazen Karaman, PhD, MBA, who brings 20+ years in product management and 10+ years in cell therapy; CTO Matthias Merten, PhD, who has 20+ years in product development and more than 12 years in biotech and diagnostics; and Head of Engineering Hong Peng, MS, who has 10+ years in product development. Merten is a previous start-up founder and Procopio LaunchPad participant.
“As a company being incubated in Procopio’s LaunchPad, we are looking forward to expert guidance in structuring the business, securing and protecting our intellectual property, and preparing for effective fundraising.,” said Karaman. “We will leverage the LaunchPad team’s unique combination of legal and operational acumen and fundraising and strategic insights to build a strong foundation, accelerate our growth, and position the company for long term success.”
The LaunchPad incubator program includes educational opportunities on key topics including valuation, funding, intellectual property strategy, employment issues, and pursuing a strong exit. Procopio attorneys provide ongoing legal support and assist with corporate structuring, patent protection, investor pitches, branding, and growth strategy. Incubation typically lasts nine months, although that may vary due to the startup’s needs.
