Procopio is seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support the family law group in its downtown San Diego office. The ideal candidate will have both family law paralegal and legal assistant skills for a minimum of 5+ years in a fast-paced legal environment and be comfortable working in-office 5 days a week (M-F). A paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program or equivalent is required. The role will encompass a combination of billable hour paralegal work, in addition to legal assistant responsibilities. The position will include responsibilities such as calendaring, communicating with opposing counsel and clients, scheduling/continuing hearings and mediations with the court or private judges, court filings, service of documents, preparing and/or drafting correspondence, judicial council forms and declarations, assisting with discovery, document review, preparation of DODs, screening new clients and running conflict checks. Previous experience using the MS Office Suite, timekeeping systems, and other law firm related computer programs is required.
We’re looking for a self-starter who feels comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative team environment. Must have strong administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to prioritize daily workload, as well as recognize and act on important details and deadlines. Must have the ability to work under pressure, respond quickly to changing demands, and be self-motivated. This is a true team environment, so a positive, can-do attitude is essential.
Procopio offers generous total compensation packages. Typical pay range is from $75,000 – $100,000+ depending on experience. What You’ll Do
You’ll play a key role in supporting attorneys who handle complex corporate and commercial litigation in both state and federal courts. Ideal candidates bring at least 7 years of experience in high-volume civil litigation and are confident handling:
- Drafting and formatting pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence
- E-filing in both state and federal courts, without the use of a full-service e-filing service provider
- Maintaining attorney calendars and tracking litigation deadlines
- Communicating with clients, courts, and opposing counsel

- Assisting attorneys with logistics and materials for mediations, arbitration, or trials
To be considered, candidates must have experience supporting attorneys in commercial and business litigation; bankruptcy litigation experience preferred.

What You’ll Do
You’ll play an essential role in supporting the firm’s billing and client accounting processes while working closely with attorneys, support staff, and clients to ensure accurate financial records. Preparing, reviewing, and finalizing client bills using Paperless Proforma and the Aderant database

What You’ll Do
You’ll provide high-level administrative and practice support to a Partner whose work focuses on gaming, commercial transactions, leasing, finance, and economic development in Indian Country. Ideal candidates bring at least 5–7 years of experience supporting attorneys in transactional, regulatory, or government-facing practices and are confident handling:
- Drafting, formatting, and preparing transactional documents, correspondence, resolutions, agreements, and memoranda
- Assisting with the assembly, execution, and distribution of deal documents, including signature packets and closing binders
- Managing complex attorney calendars, scheduling meetings with clients, government agencies, and internal teams
- Coordinating communications with tribal governments, state and federal agencies, and outside parties
- Organizing due diligence materials, tracking project timelines, and maintaining matter files
- Preparing and processing expense reports, check requests, and other administrative tasks
- Supporting attorneys with varying work styles and priorities
- Conducting preliminary research and assisting with document management related to gaming regulations, tribal-state compacts, land-into-trust matters, and other Native American law issues
