Procopio has an immediate opening for a full-time Litigation Docketing Specialist or Litigation Docketing Assistant in our Downtown San Diego or Del Mar Heights offices. This role provides crucial support to attorneys and staff by ensuring timely and accurate court docketing and calendaring across various courts and jurisdictions. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings a high level of accuracy, urgency, and professionalism to their work.
We are open to hiring either:

A Mid-Level Litigation Docketing Specialist with 2–3 years of litigation docketing experience in a law firm setting, or
-
An Entry-Level Litigation Docketing Assistant with 1–2 years of experience in docketing, calendaring, or legal support.
Responsibilities

Review and analyze docketing requests and associated documents and accurately calculate critical dates and related deadlines.

Learn and demonstrate knowledge of court rules and procedures in multiple jurisdictions.

Research deadlines as needed to supplement automated calculations.

Update existing docket entries and review work product to ensure quality control.

Generate and distribute docket and customized reports upon request.

Proofread and review calendar entries to ensure accuracy.

Partner with the Litigation Docket Manager to communicate docketing policies and procedures to support staff and attorneys; work with individuals to address questions or issues.

Monitor updates to court rules and procedures and communicate changes as appropriate.

Collaborate in the docketing process by monitoring assigned docketing inboxes and coordinating with case team members.

Provide ongoing guidance and support to attorneys and staff regarding docketing policies and procedures.

Maintain current knowledge of Federal, State, and local rules and civil procedure.
Skills, Abilities & Experience

Wide-ranging familiarity with litigation processes, court rules, and procedures.

Knowledge and understanding of pleadings and discovery.

Experience computing deadlines for State, Federal, and appellate courts and across multiple jurisdictions.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to research, analyze, and summarize issues in writing.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw sound conclusions.

Ability to manage high-volume workloads, prioritize competing deadlines, and work with minimal supervision while meeting business objectives.

Demonstrated sense of urgency and responsiveness to attorneys, clients, and internal teams.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate or equivalent experience/education.
Experience Level
-
Specialist: 2–3 years of litigation docketing experience in a law firm environment preferred.

Assistant: 1–2 years of experience in docketing, calendaring, or legal support preferred.
Technical Skills
-
Experience with docketing/calendaring systems (e.g., CompuLaw Vision, Milana preferred).

Familiarity with court research tools and websites (e.g., PACER) for retrieving case information and documents.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

The Marketing & Business Development Manager will play a key role in supporting the firm’s growth initiatives across Southern California, while being based in our Irvine office. This position will partner closely with attorneys and firm leadership to develop and execute strategic marketing and business development initiatives that drive client growth, strengthen relationships, and enhance the firm’s visibility in the regional market. While experience in technology and life sciences sectors is valued, this role will support a broad range of practice areas and industry initiatives aligned with the firm’s overall growth strategy.
Responsibilities include collaborating with attorneys and practice group leaders to develop and implement business development plans, identifying new client opportunities and cross-selling initiatives, and supporting the execution of targeted outreach strategies throughout Southern California. The Marketing & Business Development Manager will also lead the development of pitches, proposals, and client presentations; coordinate and execute client events, sponsorships, and seminars; and help elevate the firm’s presence within key business and professional networks. This role will track and report on business development activity and results, support lateral integration efforts, and partner with the broader marketing team on branding, communications, and digital initiatives. The position requires a strategic, proactive professional who can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong client service approach.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in marketing and/or business development within a professional services environment, with law firm experience strongly preferred. Candidates should have strong knowledge of the Southern California market, particularly Orange County, and a demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with senior stakeholders, including attorneys and firm leadership. Experience supporting technology, life sciences, or other innovation-driven sectors is a plus but not required. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong project management abilities, and a strategic, solutions-oriented mindset. A collaborative approach, high level of professionalism, and the ability to influence without authority are essential for success in this role.
This position is based in our Irvine office and supports initiatives across Southern California. Occasional travel to other firm offices and regional events will be required.

The Junior Trainer will support the firm’s learning and development initiatives by coordinating and assisting with the delivery of training programs across the organization. This role works closely with the Learning & Development team to ensure a seamless training experience, including onboarding, technology training, and firmwide development programs. Responsibilities include scheduling training sessions, managing registrations, coordinating logistics for both virtual and in-person trainings, and supporting live sessions through attendance tracking, chat monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.
This position will also assist with maintaining and updating the firm’s Learning Management System (LMS), including uploading course content, tracking participation and completion, and generating reports for internal stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include preparing training materials and resources, updating job aids and presentation content, and supporting onboarding programs. The Junior Trainer will also help distribute and compile training evaluations and provide administrative support for ongoing training initiatives and firmwide rollouts.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and a professional, service-oriented approach are essential, as this role interacts regularly with attorneys, staff, and cross-functional teams. Candidates should be comfortable working collaboratively and demonstrate strong follow-through and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required, along with the ability to create and format presentations and training materials. Proficiency in InTapp and iManage are strongly preferred. Experience with learning management systems or training coordination is preferred, and exposure to instructional design concepts is a plus. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Prior experience in training coordination, learning and development, or administrative support is also preferred. This position is non-exempt and hourly.
