Although this is not a high-volume litigation desk, the role regularly involves court filings and requires someone who is comfortable managing litigation procedures and deadlines. This role requires a candidate to have exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have strong skills in MS Office, excellent word processing abilities, experience with electronic court filing procedures, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Procopio is seeking an Intellectual Property Assistant to join our Intellectual Property team in any of our California offices; this is a hybrid remote position, requiring 3 days in office minimum, however we will consider fully remote for highly qualified candidates. The Intellectual Property Assistant provides critical administrative and overflow prosecution support to the Firm’s Intellectual Property practice, working closely with attorneys, staff, and clients to facilitate U.S. and international patent and trademark prosecution while ensuring matters are handled accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures.
Responsibilities include preparing and filing U.S. patent applications, Information Disclosure Statements, office action responses, issue fee documents, and other patent prosecution filings, as well as preparing and filing PCT applications and related correspondence. This role also reviews incoming communications from the USPTO and WIPO, reports correspondence to clients, prepares trademark renewals, participates in quality control procedures for patent filings, maintains electronic records, assists with docket reports, tracks billable time, and provides coverage for team members during absences. Procopio offers a competitive compensation package with an anticipated salary range of approximately $150,000 to $200,000+, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, bringing the total compensation range to $180,000-$230,000+ annually. Procopio is seeking an Intellectual Property Practice Team Coordinator to join our Intellectual Property team in any of our California offices. This is a hybrid remote position requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office; however, we will consider fully remote candidates with exceptional qualifications. The Practice Team Coordinator (PTC) provides executive-level support to designated IP Practice Teams while maintaining an active patent prosecution practice. This role serves as a key liaison between attorneys, staff, clients, and foreign associates, helping ensure the efficient delivery of exceptional client service.
Responsibilities include managing client relationships, coordinating billing and new matter openings, monitoring deadlines and workflows, overseeing work distribution, and serving as the IP subject matter expert for assigned Practice Teams. The PTC also partners with the Senior Manager of IP Operations to support training, onboarding, documentation, and process improvements. We’re hiring an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant / Litigation Legal Secretary to support a busy Intellectual Property Litigation team in our downtown San Diego office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive litigation professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting complex, high-stakes matters.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play a key role in supporting attorneys handling sophisticated intellectual property and complex commercial litigation matters in federal courts and administrative forums. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, responsive, and capable of managing a heavy litigation desk with competing deadlines.
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting, formatting, proofreading, and managing pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence, and other litigation documents
- Handling heavy district court e-filing, including federal court filings without the use of a full-service e-filing vendor
- Maintaining attorney calendars and tracking litigation deadlines across multiple matters
- Communicating professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors
- Assisting attorneys with logistics and preparation for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and case strategy meetings
- Supporting matters involving coordinated or complex litigation procedures, including JCCP matters where applicable
- Assisting with matters before the International Trade Commission (“ITC”), or learning ITC procedures and filing requirements as needed

What We’re Looking For
- At least 7 years of litigation legal assistant or litigation legal secretary experience within a law firm environment
- Intellectual property litigation experience strongly preferred; substantial federal court filing experience will also be considered

- Familiarity with JCCP or other complex litigation matters preferred

Procopio is seeking a Floater Legal Assistant to join the team in our Orange County office. The Floater Legal Assistant will provide administrative and substantive legal support to attorneys and practice teams across the Firm on an as-needed basis. The International Tax Case Assistant will support the firm’s International Tax and Latin America practice by providing administrative, legal, and office support in our Washington, DC office. This role works closely with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to assist with client matters, legal document preparation, scheduling, matter organization, and day-to-day office operations. The Senior Applications & Reporting Analyst will play a key role in supporting the firm’s financial systems, reporting infrastructure, and business operations. This position is responsible for the oversight, optimization, and performance of the firm’s financial management and intake/conflicts platforms, while delivering reporting and analytics that support strategic decision-making across Finance, Risk, Practice Teams, and Firm Leadership.
Responsibilities include administering and supporting the firm’s Intapp ecosystem and Aderant platform, managing system updates and integrations, and developing dashboards and reporting tools that provide insights into billing, collections, attorney activity, client trends, and other key business metrics. Procopio offers generous total compensation packages. Typical pay range is from $125,000 – $150,000+ depending on experience. The Marketing & Business Development Manager will play a key role in supporting the firm’s growth initiatives across Southern California, while being based in our Irvine office. This position will partner closely with attorneys and firm leadership to develop and execute strategic marketing and business development initiatives that drive client growth, strengthen relationships, and enhance the firm’s visibility in the regional market. While experience in technology and life sciences sectors is valued, this role will support a broad range of practice areas and industry initiatives aligned with the firm’s overall growth strategy.
Responsibilities include collaborating with attorneys and practice group leaders to develop and implement business development plans, identifying new client opportunities and cross-selling initiatives, and supporting the execution of targeted outreach strategies throughout Southern California. The Marketing & Business Development Manager will also lead the development of pitches, proposals, and client presentations; coordinate and execute client events, sponsorships, and seminars; and help elevate the firm’s presence within key business and professional networks. This role will track and report on business development activity and results, support lateral integration efforts, and partner with the broader marketing team on branding, communications, and digital initiatives. The position requires a strategic, proactive professional who can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong client service approach.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in marketing and/or business development within a professional services environment, with law firm experience strongly preferred. Candidates should have strong knowledge of the Southern California market, particularly Orange County, and a demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with senior stakeholders, including attorneys and firm leadership. Experience supporting technology, life sciences, or other innovation-driven sectors is a plus but not required. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong project management abilities, and a strategic, solutions-oriented mindset. A collaborative approach, high level of professionalism, and the ability to influence without authority are essential for success in this role.
This position is based in our Irvine office and supports initiatives across Southern California. Occasional travel to other firm offices and regional events will be required.
