In a significant court victory for our client Campo Kumeyaay Nation, a federal judge agreed to our request argued by Rebecca L Reed to dismiss a lawsuit against the U.S. for approving the Tribe’s renewable energy wind farm. The Court ruled the Tribe was a necessary party if the case were to be properly adjudicated, but its sovereignty prevented jurisdiction and thus could not be forced into the lawsuit. Ted Griswold also represented Campo in the matter along with other members of our Native American Law practice group.
There were many other favorable aspects of the judge’s decision, as reported by Law360 (subscription required).
