Procopio's Annual Labor & Employment Seminar
This must-attend seminar is coming up fast. Join us in La Jolla, December 12th for updates on the latest laws, regulations and court decisions impacting employers in California. We’ve set our agenda for this year’s exciting event:
Session 1: California Employers: Be Prepared for 2020
With one of the busiest legislative sessions in the area of employment law this year, California employers must be aware of and comply with many complex and sometimes confusing legal requirements that will take effect in 2020. In this interactive presentation, Marie Burke Kenny, Olga Savage, and Lauren Vega will provide expert analysis and insight regarding the most significant new laws and court decisions impacting employers. From wage and hour issues to discrimination and harassment, Marie, Olga, and Lauren will share practical guidance on how to make informed employment decisions and avoid liability.
Session 2: Harassment and Investigation Issues in the #MeToo Era
The #metoo era continues to increase scrutiny of workplace claims and investigations. In this presentation, Bob Levy and Annie Ellis will cover the 2019 developments in the #metoo #timesup movement and its impact on employment laws. In addition, this presentation will also guide employers on how to effectively prevent, respond to, and investigate complaints in the workplace with the overall goal of minimizing exposure and PR issues.
Session 3: “Must-Have” Employment Agreements
With the countless legal changes this year, 2020 is an excellent year for employers to conduct an internal audit of their employment agreements and key policies. In this presentation, Tyler Paetkau and Stephenie Alexander will cover the “must have” list of agreements and any legally required updates for existing agreements in these areas, including the following: separation, trade secret, social media, and general employment agreements.
Session 4: It’s Your Turn!
