Procopio Partner Sandra Shippey Elected to the Management Committee

San Diego, CA Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP partner Sandra Shippey has been elected to the firm's Management Committee and will assume the position previously held by Maureen Hallahan, who was recently appointed as a judge of the San Diego Superior Court by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

“In addition to having earned widespread respect for her outstanding legal skills and work ethic, Shippey has demonstrated outstanding judgment, people skills and problem solving capabilities and genuine leadership in the community,” said Managing Partner Tom Turner. “She’ll be a great asset to our management team.”

Shippey represents finance companies, banks and other asset-based lenders and borrowers in connection with all types of traditional credit activities, asset-based financing, mezzanine financing and other commercial financing.

Shippey graduated, magna cum laude from Boston University in 1982 after receiving her undergraduate degree, with distinction, from the University of Colorado in 1978. Shippey was admitted to practice law in Colorado in 1982 and in California in 1991. She has been a California real estate broker since 1995. Prior to joining Procopio, Ms. Shippey was, among other things, Legal Counsel to NextWave Telecom Inc., General Counsel for First Commercial Corporation, Operations Counsel for General Electric Capital Corporation, and an associate with Mayer, Brown & Platt.
