Samuel Lee joins Procopio from Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP. His practice emphasizes client counseling in all aspects of intellectual property-related matters with a particular focus on matters in wireless communications, medical devices, multimedia and animation, video display devices, optical network systems, video compression and transmission, optical recording media, and semiconductor processing. Prior to becoming an attorney, Sam worked for seventeen years as an engineer/senior scientist/supervisor with Hughes Aircraft/Rockwell/Boeing Space Systems, where he was involved with spacecraft navigation design, including INS and GPS.
Patent agents Jerome Brekken, Charles Eggers and Katherine Proctor have also joined Procopio.
Jerome spent more than 27 years working in the electronics industry, manufacturing semiconductors and printed circuit boards as an engineering manager/process engineer with Applied Microcircuits Corporation, ST Microelectronics Corporation, and Unisys Corporation. He specializes in the preparation and prosecution of patents in a diverse range of technologies including semiconductors, electronics, chemical processes and compounds, mechanical apparatus, business systems, and communications. Before joining Procopio, he served as a technical advisor for Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP.
Charles spent over 13 years working as a systems engineering analyst, software engineer and software developer and has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a diverse range of technologies. Prior to joining Procopio, he worked as a scientific advisor with Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLC and with Pulse~LINK, Inc. as a patent agent.
Katherine brings over 25 years of experience in the preparation and prosecution of U.S., international and foreign patent applications. She has prepared and prosecuted patents in a diverse range of technologies, including optics, electronics, communications, mechanical devices and machines, medical devices, and software. Prior to joining Procopio, she worked as a patent agent with Gordon & Rees LLP for two years and also with Brown, Martin, Haller & McClain for18 years.
