The award recognizes Cataldo’s outstanding community service and her advancement of the art and science of jurisprudence during 2005. Her leadership as chair of the North County Bar Association’s 2005 Law Week Committee spearheaded such superior Law Day activities that the North County Bar Association won the American Bar Association’s 2005 Outstanding Activity Award.
Cataldo has also been an active participant in the Youth in Court program for the past five years. As a member of the Committee for the North County Bar Donor Advised Fund, she was instrumental in creating the fund, which distributed more than $7,000 to non-profit organizations and schools in 2005. Cataldo has been a frequent guest speaker at high schools, middle schools and elementary schools throughout San Diego County, introducing students to the law and the legal profession, including presenting the Children at Risk program sponsored by the San Diego County Bar Association. She also has served as an adjunct professor at Palomar College for the past ten years, teaching Civil Litigation, Torts, Business Law and Civil Liberties.
“This award honoring Mary for her selfless devotion to educating San Diego County youth about the law and the legal profession exemplifies Procopio’s steadfast commitment to give back to the community,” says Procopio Managing Partner Thomas W. Turner, Jr.
Cataldo practices out of Procopio’s North County office in Carlsbad. Her practice emphasizes complex business litigation and trust, estate and probate litigation.
