Five From Procopio Named “Top Attorneys” by The Daily Transcript

San Diego, CAProcopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP is proud to announce that partners William W. Eigner, John J. Lormon, Michael E. Lyon, S. Andrew Pharies and Jacob C. Reinbolt have been named “Top Attorneys” in San Diego County by The Daily Transcript.

The Daily Transcript conducts a peer voting process to determine the best lawyers in private, corporate, academic and government practice in San Diego County in key categories. In March, San Diego County lawyers were asked who among their peers were worthy of recognition. The Daily Transcript received nearly 900 nominations among the 14 pre-selected categories.

William W. Eigner, recognized in the Corporate –Transactional category, focuses his practice on venture capital and the financing, governing, operating, buying, selling and merging of growing technology and other businesses. His practice further encompasses corporate and business transactions, including matters relating to telecommunications, electronic commerce, energy, biotechnology, corporate governance, franchising, employment and independent contractor issues, intellectual property protection, competitive business practices, securities, and business structuring and financing. Mr. Eigner also has significant experience in handling contractual and political issues involving telecommunications companies and independent power producers.

John J. Lormon, named in the Municipal – Government category, specializes in environmental, climate change and sustainability law. He has experience working with local and state government and regulatory agencies on environmental permitting, entitlement and compliance matters. Mr. Lormon has handled project development, permitting compliance and enforcement issues and has managed numerous Clean Air Act cases involving stationary and mobile sources. He has special expertise in air emission impacts to local communities. Mr. Lormon has worked on carbon emission, diesel and soot projects in large projects in Los Angeles and Long Beach Harbor. He is also experienced in health risk assessment matters on a local and a community wide scale involving vapor intrusion and pesticide / herbicide applications.

Michael E. Lyon received recognition in the Real Estate – Construction Transactional category. Mr. Lyon is the leader of Procopio’s Real Estate and Environmental Team and has been practicing real estate and finance law in San Diego since 1982. His 25+ years of experience have involved a variety of asset types ranging from raw land, condominiums, single-family homes, apartments, office buildings, retail centers and industrial projects. Mr. Lyon’s clients include banks and other institutional and private lenders and investors, developers and operators. He advises clients on debt restructuring and enforcement, and assists with due diligence, management and disposition of distressed real estate assets, with a particular emphasis on workouts of non-performing mezzanine loans and other forms of subordinate debt and strategies for navigating the complexities of inter-creditor agreements.

Recognized in the Estate Planning – Probate category, Andrew Pharies focuses his practice on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and taxation. His practice encompasses estate planning, charitable planning, post-mortem trust and probate administration and litigation, exempt organizations, transfer tax (estate, gift, and generation-skipping) planning, income tax planning, business planning, and tax litigation. Mr. Pharies is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.

Jacob C. Reinbolt, named in the IP – Transactional category, focuses his practice on computer law, intellectual property (trademark and Internet domain names, copyright, trade secret, and patent), Internet law, licensing, entertainment, publishing, the arts, advertising, outsourcing, securities law, franchising, corporate law, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Reinbolt represents software, technology, Internet, social media, and emerging and rapidly growing companies; entertainers, writers and artists; licensors and licensees; and all types of high-technology companies. His Internet and Web 2.0 practice includes agreements for Web site development and use, data mining, privacy and electronic commerce.
