10 Procopio Attorneys Named ALM 2021 Women Leaders in Law

January 21, 2021 (San Diego, Silicon Valley) – Ten Procopio attorneys have been recognized by American Law Media as 2021 Women Leaders in Law. The annual program by the organization that ranks the AmLaw 200 recognizes outstanding women attorneys who among other accomplishments have achieved an AV Preeminent ranking from Martindale-Hubbell®.

This year’s Procopio recipients are Partners Carole Buckner, Susan Daly, Lisel Ferguson, Kendra Hall, Mindy Morton, Mary Salamone and Wendy Tucker; Of Counsel Dana Bessenecker; Senior Associate Alexandra “Sasha” Selfridge; and Special Counsel Roberta Repasy.

Dana Bessenecker is a member of Procopio’s Real Estate practice. She focuses on real estate transactions, particularly real property purchase and sale, commercial leasing, easements and licenses. Dana has experience with owners and developers of shopping centers, commercial and industrial office buildings, residential developments and airplane facilities.

Carole Buckner is Procopio’s General Counsel and a Partner in its Privacy and Cybersecurity practice. Her practice focuses on legal ethics, professional responsibility and the law of lawyering, including advising lawyers and law firms, and rendering expert opinions. She also serves as an expert consultant on issues involving legal ethics including legal fees, billing, fee arrangements, conflicts of interest, fee sharing, referral fees, unauthorized practice of law, withdrawal from representation, modification of fee arrangements, client trust accounting, and other issues.

Susan Daly is a Partner in Procopio’s Real Estate practice. She counsels clients involved in developing residential and commercial real estate, focusing on varied types of subdivided land projects in California, Hawaii, Arizona and Oregon including condominiums, planned developments, standard subdivisions, mixed-use projects, mixed-use high-rise projects and commercial condominiums.

Lisel Ferguson is the Leader of Procopio’s Intellectual Property Litigation Team. She counsels clients on patent, trademark and copyright prosecution worldwide, and intellectual property litigation throughout the United States. Lisel’s practice focuses on computer hardware and software, sporting goods, apparel, Internet, entertainment, medical devices, agricultural products and services, and consumer goods. She is also the Co-Leader of the firm’s Sports and Active Lifestyle practice.

Kendra Hall is a Certified Specialist in Appellate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She has served as lead counsel in nearly 150 civil appeal and writ proceedings, involving all aspects of civil law including business and commercial disputes, contract actions, employment, product liability and intellectual property disputes.

Mindy Morton is a Partner in Procopio’s Silicon Valley office and a member of its Intellectual Property Litigation Team. She defends internet companies against defamation, copyright, trademark and related claims on First Amendment, Communications Decency Act Section 230, DMCA and US SPEECH Act grounds. She also helps clients resolve disputes involving trade secret, patent, trademark, copyright, computer fraud and complex commercial litigation.

Roberta Repasy is a member of Procopio’s Trusts, Estates and Probates practice. She focuses on estate planning, trust administration, and tax areas. She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of California and the United States Tax Court and is licensed to practice law in California. Earlier in her career, Roberta served in the U.S. Treasury Department.

Mary Salamone is a Partner in Procopio’s Construction practice. She counsels clients on alternative project delivery methods, competitive bidding, contract drafting, project management and contract administration, scheduling and delay issues, lost productivity, differing site conditions, change orders for added scope, cost overruns, mechanics lien, stop payment notice and bond rights, risk management, claims resolution, and more.

Alexandra “Sasha” Selfridge is a member of Procopio’s Insurance Recovery practice. She is an experienced trial attorney in a wide range of civil litigation, including insurance coverage and bad faith, appellate practice, business litigation, premises liability, breach of contract, construction defect, products liability, and transportation litigation.

Wendy Tucker is a Partner in Procopio’s Labor and Employment Law practice. She focuses on counseling employers in all areas of employment law including terminations, leaves and accommodations, harassment and discrimination, wage and hour, management training and investigations. She is also experienced in successfully helping employers handle personnel crises and in resolving workforce issues such as toxic workplace or ineffective management and staffing.
