Procopio Partner Maureen F. Hallahan Appointed to Bench

Maureen F. Hallahan, a partner with the San Diego law firm Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP
, has been appointed as a judge of the San Diego Superior Court by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and will be sworn in during ceremonies today.

A member of Procopio’s Management Committee, Ms. Hallahan concentrated her litigation practice in the areas of business, intellectual property, employment, and fiduciary litigation, including probate and trusts litigation. She is the immediate past president of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, San Diego Chapter, and vice-chair of the San Diego County Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee. Ms. Hallahan is also a past president of the Lawyers Club of San Diego. She was an instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and the California Continuing Education of the Bar. Ms. Hallahan devoted her time to the AIDS Legal Clinic and the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, and provided pro bono legal services to Big Sisters and other causes. She received her B.A. in psychology, with distinction, from San Diego State University in 1976, and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1981.
Ms. Hallahan was one of seven new judges from San Diego, Riverside and Fresno counties appointed last week to fill judicial vacancies.
