Robin Phillips is an associate whose primary area of practice is intellectual property litigation.
Prior to joining Procopio, Mr. Phillips was with McDermott Will & Emery, where he focused on patent litigation. Mr. Phillips has also worked at the Public Defender’s Office in San Diego.
Representative Matters
- September 2011: Won petition for finding of factual innocence and destruction of arrest records on behalf of foreign citizen wrongly arrested and charged with assault.
Mr. Phillips holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and computational and applied mathematics from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. He subsequently earned a master’s degree in computer science from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2003. Mr. Phillips received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2006. During law school, he served as vice president of the Intellectual Property Student Organization, and completed a judicial internship under Judge Jennifer W. Elrod at the 190th District Court in Harris County, Texas.
Mr. Phillips was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2006. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the San Diego County Bar Association and the San Diego Intellectual Property Organization.
Mr. Phillips received the California State Bar's Wiley W. Manuel Award and the San Diego Legal Aid Society’s Outstanding Service Award for his pro bono work in 2009-2010.
Mr. Phillips is a member of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), and serves as co-chair of the Glass Leadership Institute for the ADL’s San Diego region.
