Sapin replaces partner Steven J. Untiedt, who has left the Management Committee after serving a total of 11 years (1996-2000; 2004-2009). Untiedt, a partner in the firm’s Corporate, M&A and Securities practice group, also served as the firm’s Managing Partner from 1997-2000, and was the leader of the firm’s Business & Technology Team from 1993-1997.
“Steve has demonstrated an unparalleled combination of critical analysis, wisdom, judgment, leadership and deeply ingrained commitment to the long term best interests of Procopio,” said Tom Turner, Procopio’s managing partner. “It is impossible to overstate the value of his innumerable contributions to the welfare of this organization. Our sincere respect and appreciation go out to this truly outstanding partner.”
Sapin, a partner in the firm’s tax practice group, will now join partners Craig Ramseyer, Michael Changaris, Sandra Shippey, and Tom Turner, along with the firm’s COO, Jim Perkins, on the committee. Sapin specializes in tax and business matters and represents various partnerships, corporations, and individuals in areas such as limited liability company and partnership syndications, business transactions, real estate planning, and tax controversy issues.
“Craig has a long history of exceptional service to the firm. His management acumen and firm orientation are well recognized and highly valued,” said Turner. “There is zero doubt he will again ably serve in this new capacity.”
