Public Agencies and Charter Schools

Safe-guarding the needs and interests of clients in the public sector is challenging and demands a specialized set of skills and experience from knowledgeable attorneys. Procopio’s Public Agencies and Charter Schools practice team regularly advises public and private clients on laws regulating public and quasi-public political subdivisions in areas such as public-private partnerships, conflicts of interest, governmental transparency and public contracting. We provide our clients advice on ethics laws as well as counsel on the formation of special service public agencies and corporations.

Our attorneys provide strategic guidance to clients in an array of industries ranging from real estate, utilities, pharmaceutical, health care, construction and emerging growth and technology. We represent public sector clients throughout California, including hospital districts, water and sanitation agencies, joint powers authorities for insurance pooling, school districts, charter schools, and municipalities. Our attorneys also counsel charter schools throughout California. These clients rely on us for advice on charter development, renewal, incorporation, Proposition 39 and many other matters.
