The fear of swine flu has led to the postponement of the fifth annual University of San Diego School of Law – Procopio International Tax Institute Conference that was scheduled for tomorrow.
The event, focused on the latest developments of U.S. and Mexican international tax law, has been rescheduled for Oct. 19 at USD's Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice.
“While we are disappointed that the conference must be put on hold, everyone’s safety is our main concern at this time,” said Patrick W. Martin, leader of Procopio’s tax practice. About 100 attendees and speakers were notified on Tuesday about the postponement, according to Jenni Benson, Procopio’s marketing manager.
“There were no cancellations,” she said. “It was a precautionary measure, because we thought this could get worse before it got better.”
