Procopio Partner Sleeps Out to Raise Money for Homeless

San Diego, CA – On the night of April 24-25, 2010, Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP Partner Stephen Beuerle slept out overnight at Liberty Station to raise money and awareness for San Diego’s 10,000 homeless men, women, and children. Funds raised from Sleepless San Diego are used to raise awareness of homelessness and also support local non-profit organizations dedicated to helping the homeless and poor. Beuerle’s fundraising efforts included personally matching all donations made by Procopio employees in addition to the one-to-one match the firm made on those same donations. In less than one week, Beuerle led Procopio to raise over $8,000 to benefit the cause.

Sleepless San Diego is dedicated to building awareness of the current homeless condition among constituent audiences throughout San Diego County with a series of educational materials and activities tied to the 'Sleepless San Diego' theme. Through interactive communications, educational materials and events, the initiative seeks to activate the broader population for participation in programs that are solutions to homelessness.

This was the fourth year the sleep out has been held in San Diego and Beuerle’s first year participating. Beuerle said about the program, “Sleepless San Diego was a great event and a rewarding experience. I look forward to participating again next year.”
