With over 130 attorneys in 3 offices throughout San Diego County, Procopio reported a growth of 20 attorneys from August 2011-July 2012. Altman’s practice includes representation of plaintiffs and defendants in all manners of commercial and civil litigation, including breach of contract, fraud, unfair business practices, and complex litigation. Her practice also encompasses various bankruptcy matters, including debtor/creditor relations. Prior to Joining Procopio, Altman served as a law clerk to the Honorable William C. Hillman in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts. She received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2011, where she graduated cum laude and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
Chan’s practice focuses primarily on intellectual property litigation. He has extensive experience litigating utility patent, design patent, trade dress, and trademark cases, and has represented clients from the automotive, biotechnology, chemical engineering, computer, and consumer product industries. Chan is a registered patent attorney admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, and has experience prosecuting patent applications relating to computer technology and medical devices. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
Deonarine’s practice focuses on complex intellectual property litigation. He represents clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical manufacturing, entertainment, apparel, food, and consumer product industries. Deonarine has extensive experience litigating patent, trademark, and copyright cases, including both jury and bench trials and has litigated cases before the International Trade Commission. He also has extensive experience in U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution, intellectual property due diligence, and IP licensing. Prior to joining Procopio, Deonarine was an attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, one of Canada’s leading intellectual property law firms. He received his J.D. from the University of Windsor in Canada.
Miller focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and pre-litigation counseling with a specialization in insurance coverage recovery. She has represented technology, financial services, life sciences, hospitality, multi-media, health care, manufacturing, and municipal clients obtaining millions in insurance coverage for third party liabilities under a wide range of insurance policies, including commercial general, D&O, multi-media, IP, public entity, pollution legal employment practices and bankers professional liability policies . Miller’s practice encompasses trial and appellate representation of her clients in state and federal courts across the country. Prior to joining Procopio, she was counsel at Latham & Watkins LLP. Miller received her J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where she graduated Valedictorian of her class.
Quient will serve as medical staff counsel for numerous hospitals and health systems. She will also serve litigation counsel on behalf of health systems, hospitals, physician groups, and individual providers in business, professional liability, fraud and abuse, and administrative matters in both Federal and State court. Prior to Joining Procopio, Quient served as judicial clerk to the Honorable Michal M. Anello in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. She also worked as a paralegal for the Capital Markets Group at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York, NY. Quient received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2011, where she was a member of the San Diego Law Review.
Sai’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation. He has litigated complex intellectual property cases before the International Trade Commission and US District Courts. Sai has been involved in all aspects of litigation, including two ITC section 337 hearings. He received his J.D. from the University of La Verne.
