Six years ago the University of San Diego School of Law and the Procopio International Tax Institute gathered for the first time high ranking tax government officials and prestigious private practitioners and professors from North America to discuss international tax law issues. It was the USD-PITI's intention to create a unique forum to allow professionals to network and share recent developments in the international tax laws of the NAFTA countries.
U.S. Treasury, IRS, Mexican Hacienda and SAT officials in the area of international taxation have been actively participating in what has become the premier educational and networking event for the latest developments in U.S.-Mexico international tax matters.
The sixth annual University of San Diego School of Law - Procopio International Tax Institute Conference is at the forefront of providing new and relevant developments in the U.S. and Mexican international tax law arena. It draws reputable and internationally recognized leaders and experts in the field of international tax law and serves not only as an educational platform but as a unique opportunity to network amongst industry colleagues.
In an ever changing workplace and multi-national economic environment, it is the responsibility of tax practitioners and financial professionals to remain current with up-to-the minute and detailed knowledge of international tax law matters. The economic events taking place in the world has put increasing pressure on tax and financial policies of governments, specifically including the NAFTA countries that has led to numerous changes and modifications in the law. Government officials are now increasingly focusing their efforts in the area of international tax and transactions to help close budget and so-called "tax gaps". These on-going changes in the law and policy demand that tax and financial professionals proactively seek out the newest developments and tax compliance strategies.
This unique conference focuses on U.S. and Mexican international tax law developments. This event hosted by the University of San Diego, School of Law – Procopio International Tax Institute attracts:
