Procopio is proud to support the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and their upcoming dinner featuring Travis Laster, Vice Chancellor, Delaware Chancery Court. Delaware is home to hundreds of thousands of corporations, including more than half of all corporations traded on the NYSE and NASDAQ stock exchanges. Thousands of those companies operate (and litigate) here in California every day. And yet the corporate law which governs those companies is largely determined by the unique Delaware Chancery Court, a key arbiter of corporate law in America. Vice Chancellor Travis Laster is the youngest and newest of just five judges serving on that Court. Bringing to the bench what Reuters has described as "unusual tactics," Vice Chancellor Laster has developed a reputation as one of the least restrained judges on the bench. His decisions on class actions, settlements and fee awards are breaking new ground and questioning long-standing practices and procedures in corporate litigation. Please join us as Vice Chancellor Laster shares his thoughts and perspectives as a judge on the cutting edge of our country's corporate law.
