John D. Alessio

John D. Alessio has counseled companies of all sizes with their formation, corporate and employment compliance as well as lender, business, employment, real estate and cross-border litigation and transactions. He is experienced in civil trials, arbitrations, and mediations and has successfully argued on multiple occasions before the Fourth District Court of Appeal. He has lectured and published articles on various topics covering civil litigation and employment matters.

• Representation of lenders in a nationwide class action alleging TILA, Fraud, Unfair Business Practices and related claims seeking $100 Million plus in damages
• Successfully defended numerous businesses and executives in class actions and individual claims regarding wage and hour violations, discrimination, sexual harassment, whistle blowing, negligent hiring and related matters
• Successfully defended and prosecuted cases on behalf of businesses and executives in trade secret misappropriation matters
• Achieved class action certification and favorable resolution in an age-discrimination employment claim
• Successfully defended and prosecuted cases on behalf of landlords in commercial litigation and toxic tort matters
• Successfully defended and prosecuted cases on behalf of contractors in construction litigation matters
• Successfully defended and prosecuted cases on behalf of Mexican businesses in commercial disputes and personal injuries occurring in Mexico with jurisdiction in California
• Successfully defended and prosecuted cases on behalf of majority and minority shareholders, partners, members and managers in breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract and related matters
• Successfully defended lender liability cases
• Successfully defended and prosecuted professional liability matters

Mr. Alessio received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of San Diego in 1991 and graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1994.

Mr. Alessio is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern Districts of California, defending and prosecuting cases from San Jose to San Diego, California. He has maintained memberships in the San Diego County Bar Association, California State Bar, American Bar Association, California Restaurant Association, San Diego Food and Beverage Association and other business and executive groups. He is also a member of the 2011 Technology Committee at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch, as well as Founding Director for the Red Autismo Foundation, a California nonprofit corporation.
